1. Using BoopBoops

You need to be 13 or over to use BoopBoops and 18 or over to buy anything. Only upload photos you took yourself or have permission to use, of animals. Don’t upload photos of people who haven’t agreed, or anything unlawful, hateful or explicit. We may remove creations or close accounts that break these rules.

2. Your creations

Your photo stays yours. Each creation is made fresh by software from your photo, so two creations from the same photo will differ, and occasionally one won’t land. You can use your creations however you like for personal and non-commercial purposes, including sharing them anywhere. If you want to sell products using them, email us first.

Captions are jokes written for a photo of an animal. They aren’t statements about you, your pet’s health or anyone else.

3. Free and paid creations

Your first thought-bubble creation is free, with three captions to pick from. Downloads from a free creation carry a small BoopBoops mark in the corner.

Every purchase shows its amount before you pay. When you buy penny credits, one credit is worth one penny, and your studio shows the credit cost of your chosen creation before you start. Your account keeps your balance and transaction history. Credits don’t expire. See the pricing page for your purchase options.

Earlier creation packs. Pack credits remain separate from penny credits and retain the value and purchase terms shown when you bought them. They don’t expire and are not converted into pennies.

Changing your mind. If you haven’t used any of a top-up, contact us within 14 days of buying it for a full refund. Buying credits doesn’t, by itself, waive your cancellation rights. If a creation fails, its reserved credits return to your balance. These promises don’t limit your legal rights.

Refunded payments. Credits funded by a refunded or reversed payment are removed. If you’ve already spent them, your account records the remaining adjustment and later credits settle it first. Contact us if you need help checking a payment or balance.

4. Printed gifts

Cards, mugs, prints and canvases are printed to order with your creation and posted by our print partner. Prices, delivery charges and typical delivery times are shown before you pay. We currently deliver to UK addresses only.

Personalised items can’t be returned just because you’ve changed your mind, because they’re made specially for you. That exception is set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

If something arrives damaged, faulty or wrong, email us within 30 days with your order number and a photo. We’ll reprint it or refund you, whichever you prefer, and you won’t need to send it back. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If an order hasn’t arrived within 15 working days of being sent, tell us and we’ll send it again or refund it.

5. Payment

Prices are in pounds and include any VAT that applies. Payment is taken by Stripe when you order. We only start printing once payment is confirmed.

6. Accounts

You don’t need an account to make your free creation or buy a printed gift. You need to sign in to buy penny credits and keep their balance with your account. We sign you in with a link sent to your email, so there’s no password to forget. Keep access to that inbox secure.

7. When things go wrong

We work hard to keep BoopBoops running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We aren’t liable for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to an order is the one shown when you placed it.

9. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
